About us
Magnolia Ave is a dynamic variety rock band hailing from Auburn, Alabama. Led by the captivating vocals and acoustic guitar of Leah Slaughter, alongside the skilled lead guitar of John Powers, the steady bass grooves of Brady Horton, and the energetic rhythms of Daniel Bowers on drums, Magnolia Ave brings together a group of dedicated musicians with a shared passion for music.
When not pursuing their individual projects or academic endeavors, they unite to deliver expertly crafted performances that span the best songs from across the decades. Their versatile repertoire and engaging stage presence make them a standout choice for quality live entertainment throughout central Alabama.
What we play…
Our setlist is a journey through classic rock, blues, and timeless favorites that span generations. From the soulful depths of Ain’t No Sunshine and Tennessee Whiskey to the electrifying energy of Born to Be Wild and Whipping Post, we deliver a diverse mix of iconic songs. Expect everything from heartfelt ballads like Stand By Me and Have You Ever Seen the Rain to high-energy anthems like Long Train Runnin’ and Money. Whether it’s the haunting House of the Rising Sun or the classic grooves of 25 or 6 to 4 and Proud Mary, Magnolia Ave brings these beloved tracks to life with passion and precision.

Building Science major at Auburn University, John has been playing guitar for 5 years and providing tasteful leads for all of the band’s covers.

Computer Science major at Auburn University, Daniel brings his 9 years of percussion experience from past marching and concert bands to lay down the beat of Magnolia Ave.

Full time singer-songwriter playing solo gigs across central Alabama and actively releasing original music, Leah expands her career by completing the band with her vocal and guitar skills.
